Abstract：Objective：To observe the effect of Duhuo Jisheng tang combined with preventive anti- infective therapy on patients after operation for disc herniation. Methods：A total of 60 cases of patients with disc herniation were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method，30 cases in each group. The control group was given routine treatment， and the observation group was additionally given Duhuo Jisheng tang combined with preventive anti-infective therapy based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effect and clinical symptom scores in the two groups were compared. Results：The total effective rate was 93.33% in the observation group，higher than that of 73.33% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Before treatment， compared the scores of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)，lower limb numbness and straight leg raising test between the two groups，there was no significance in the difference(P＞0.05). After treatment，the scores of VAS，lower limb numbness and straight leg raising test in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)； the above scores in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： The treatment of Duhuo Jisheng tang combined with preventive anti-infective therapy in treating patients after operation for disc herniationcan can significantly improve the clinical effect，reduce the effect of residual symptoms，and promote the early recovery of patients.
