Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of warming-needle moxibustion combined with Gukang capsules for patients with primary osteoporosis，and evaluate its effects on bone mineral density and serum related factors. Methods：A total of 100 cases of patients with primary osteoporosis were selected and divided into the study group and the control group according to the random number table method， with 50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Gukang capsules， and the study group was additionally treated with warming- needle moxibustion based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects and Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were evaluated. Before and after treatment，the levels of bone mineral density，serum bone gla protein(BGP)，N- terminal propeptide of type I procollagen (PINP) and bone alkaline phosphatase(B-ALP) were detected. Results：There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the total effective rates between the study group and the control group(P＞0.05). After treatment，the bone mineral density of lumbar vertebra and femoral neck bone in the two groups were higher than those before treatment，and the bone mineral density in the study group was higher than that in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment， Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were lower than those before treatment， and the score in the study group was lower than that in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of BGP，PINP and B-ALP in the two groups were lower than those before treatment，and the levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of warming- needle moxibustion combined with Gukang capsules for patients with primary osteoporosis can promote the formation and absorption of bone，increase bone mineral density and improve their symptoms of osteoporosis.
