With the efficacy of warming and nourishing kidney-yang，Yougui yin is a classical prescription for deficiency of kidney-yang and decline of vital gate-fire，which has been widely applied in treating orthopedic and traumatologic diseases in recent years.The authors summarized application of Yougui yin for femoral head necrosis，osteoporosis，arthritis，lumbar disc herniation，ankylosing spondylitis and other orthopedic diseases so as to provide clinical evidences for the application of Yougui yin in orthopedic and traumatology.
