To systematically evaluate the therapeutic effect and safety of Danhong injection in treating vertigo of vertebrobasilar artery insufficiency. Methods:CNKI,PubMed,EMbase,CBM and Wanfang databases were searched through computer to find the randomized controlled trials of Danhong injection in the treatment of vertigo of vertebrobasilar artery insufficiency.According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, two evaluators independently selected the trials, extracted the data,cross-checked and conducted methodological quality assessment.RevMan 5.3 software was used for Meta analysis of homogeneous studies. Results:The meta-analysis results showed that compared with the western medicine group, with the treatment of Danhong injection, the total clinical effect was improved(OR=4.65, 95%CI=3.12~6.93); the flow velocity of vertebrobasilar artery(WMD=2.51, 95%CI=2.31~2.71); the high-shear specific viscosity(WMD=-0.17,95%CI=0.29~-0.05),the low-shear specific viscosity(WMD=-0.42,95%CI=-0.78~-0.06),the specific viscosity of plasma(OR=-0.08, 95%CI=-0.15~-0.01), the fibrinogen level(OR=-0.39, 95%CI=-0.61~-0.18), the hematocrit(OR=-1.73,95%CI=-3.00~-0.47),the improvement of the levels of total cholesterol(WMD=-0.69,95%CI=-0.82~-0.56),triglyceride(WMD=-0.41,95%CI=-0.49~-0.33)and low density lipoprotein cholesterin(OR=-0.29,95%CI=-0.48~-0.10)were improved. Conclusion:Danhong injection can effectively improve the vertigo caused by vertebrobasilar artery insufficiency, and its effect is better than that of western medicine alone.
