To observe the therapeutic effect of Duhuo Jisheng tang combined with western medicine on patients with knee osteoarthritis complicated with osteoporosis.Methods：A total of 120 patients with knee osteoarthritis complicated with osteoporosis were selected and divided into the study group and the control group according to the random number table method，with to case in each group.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine，and the study group was additionally treated with Duhuo Jisheng tang based on the treatment of the control group.The clinical effect，the bone metabolism indexes，the score of visual analogue scale(VAS)and the score of quality of life(QOL)were compared between the two groups.Results：The total effective rate was 96.67%in the study group，higher than that of 81.67%in the control group(P ＜ 0.05).After treatment，the levels of serum calcium and alkaline phosphatase in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P ＜ 0.05)，and the above levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P ＜ 0.05).After treatment，VAS scores in both groups were lower than those before treatment(P ＜ 0.05)，while the each scores of QOL in both groups were higher than those before treatment(P ＜ 0.05)，and the vas scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P ＜ 0.05)，the each scores of QOL in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion：The therapy of Duhuo Jisheng tang combined with western medicine is significant in treating patients with knee osteoarthritis complicated with osteoporosis，which can improve their bone metabolism indexes，relieve joint pain，and improve the quality of life.
