To observe the clinical effect of modified Wuhu tang combined with azithromycin for mycoplasma pneumonia in children with syndrome of phlegm-heat obstructing the lung.Methods：Divided 122 cases of children into two groups randomly，with 61 cases in each group.Both groups were treated with azithromycin and the treatment group was additionally treated with modified Wuhu tang.The course of treatment in both groups was 14 days.Observed the recovery time of cough，fever，asthma，lung moist rales and blood routine，recorded the syndrome differentiation scores of the syndrome of phlegm-heat obstructing the lung before and after treatment in the two groups，and evaluated the clinical effect.Results：There was significant difference being found in the comparison of the clinical effect in the two groups by the rank sum test(P＜0.05)and the efficacy in the treatment group was better than that in the control group.The extinction time of fever，the recovery time of blood routine and the disappearance time of cough，asthma，lung moist rales in the treatment group were shorter than those in the control group，difference being significant(P ＜ 0.05).After treatment，the scores of fever，cough，expectoration，breathlessness，pulmonary rales，thirst in the syndrome of phlegm-heat obstructing the lung in the two groups were all lower than those before treatment(P＜0.05)and all the scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion：The application of modified Wuhu tang combined with azithromycin for mycoplasma pneumonia in children with the syndrome of obstruction of phlegm-heat obstructing the lung can effectively shorten the course and improve the symptoms，its efficacy being better than that of simple use of western medicine.
