To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Qishen Yiqi Dropping Pills combined with western medicine in the treatment of myocardial infarction with qi deficiency and blood stasis type in elderly patients.Methods：A total of 80 elderly patients with myocardial infarction(qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome)were randomly divided into the Chinese and western medicine group and the control group，40 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine，and the Chinese and western medicine group was additionally treated with Qishen Yiqi Dropping Pills based on the treatment of the control group.Six weeks after treatment，the clinical effect and the changes in the ventricular remodeling indexes including left ventricular end-diastolic volume(LVEDV)，left ventricular end-systolic volume(LVESV)， left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVDd)and left ventricular end-systolic diameter(LVDs)， and the cardiac function indexes including stroke volume(SV)， effective cardiac output(CO)， cardiac index(CI)， left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)in the two groups were observed and compared.Results：The total effective rate was 90.00%in the Chinese and western medicine group and 75.00%in the control group，the differences being significant(P＜0.05).After treatment，the levels of each ventricular remodeling index including LVEDV，LVESV，LVDd and LVDs in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P ＜ 0.05)，and the improvement of the above indexes in Chinese and western medicine group was better than that in control group(P＜ 0.05).After treatment，the levels of SV，CO，CI and LVEF in the two groups were significantly increased when compared with those before treatment(P ＜ 0.05)，and the improvement of the above indexes in the Chinese and western medicine group was better than that in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion：The therapy of Qishen Yiqi Dropping Pills combined with western medicine is effective in treating elderly patients of myocardial infarction with qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome，which can effectively improve their cardiac function and help recover the ventricular remodeling.
