To observe the therapeutic evaluation of Xiaojin capsules combined with Youjiale for nodular goiter and its effect on the thyroid function.Methods：A total of 100 cases of patients with nodular goiter were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group，50 cases in each group.The control group was routinely treated with Youjiale(levothyroxine sodium tablets)，and the treatment group was additionally treated with Xiaojin capsules based on the treatment of the control group.After treatment，the maximum diameters of nodules and the changes in indexes of the thyroid function including thyroid-stimulating hormone-sensitive(sTSH)，free triiodothyronine(FT3)and free thyronine(FT4)were observed；the total curative effect and the medication safety in the two groups were compared.Results：After treatment，the maximum diameters of nodules in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P ＜ 0.05)，and the decrease in the treatment group was larger than that in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05).After treatment，the decrease of the level of sTSH in the treatment group was smaller than that in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of FT3 and FT4 in the two groups before and after treatment(P＞0.05).The total effective rate was 80%in the treatment group and 56%in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions was 26%in the control group and 8%in the treatment group，the difference being significant(P＜ 0.05).Conclusion：The therapy of Xiaojin capsules based on Youjiale in treating nodular goiter can control the excessive decrease of thyrotropin more effectively，reduce the diameters of nodules，protect the thyroid function more effectively，and increase the effective rate of treatment with better medication safety.
