Objective：To observe the clinical effect of qi-tonifying，yin-nourishing，mass-resolving and collateralsmoothing method for wet age-related macular degeneration(AMD).Methods：Divided 65 cases of patients with wet AMD into two groups randomly，34 cases(39 eyes)in the treatment group and 31(35 eyes)cases in the control group.The treatment group received Yiqi Yangyin Sanjie Tongluo tang，while the control group received esculin and digitalisglycosides eye drops via eye dripping and Hexue Mingmu tablets via oral administration.The treatment of both groups lasted for 3 months.Observed the improvements of visual acuity，visual field，macular retinal thickness and Chinese medicine syndrome in both groups before and after treatment.Results：The total effective rate was 76.92% in the treatment group，being higher than 62.86% in the control group，difference being significant(P＜ 0.05).After treatment，the visual acuity in both groups was higher than that before treatment(P ＜ 0.05)，and the visual acuity in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P ＜ 0.05).After treatment，the 30°visual field in both groups was larger than that before treatment(P ＜ 0.05)，and the 30°visual field in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P ＜ 0.05).After treatment，the macular retinal thickness in both groups was lower than that before treatment(P ＜ 0.05)，and the macular retinal thickness in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P ＜ 0.05).Comparing the scores of blurred vision，dry eyes，fatigue，short breath and distinclination to talk，distention in knee and waist，upset mind and insomnia in the treatment group before and after treatment，there were significant differences being found(P ＜ 0.05)；comparing each Chinese medicine syndrome score above in the control group before and after treatment，there were no significant differences being found(P ＞ 0.05)；after treatment，each Chinese medicine syndrome score above in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P ＜0.05).Conclusion：The qi-tonifying，yin-nourishing，mass-resolving and collateral-smoothing method has exact therapeutic effect intreatingwet AMD.
