Abstract：Emergency treatment of Chinese medicine，one of the clinical disciplines，studies the pathogenesis and the characteristics of symptom changes of clinical emergency and severe cases， and proposes corresponding diagnosis and treatment methods， on the basis of advanced emergency equipment of western medicine as well as clinical thinking and theory of Chinese medicine. During the study in a college of Chinese medicine，students should have not only the solid basic theoretical knowledge but also high practical ability. If students lack emergency consciousness and are not good at the application of clinical thinking of Chinese medicine to emergency treatment， during the actual diagnosis and treatment process， they will not be able to apply syndrome differentiation and treatment as well as four examinations of Chinese medicine in a proper way，and fail to effectively complete the emergency treatment. At present，there are some problems in emergency teaching， such as students' tension， lack of self- confidence， afraid of clinical practice， lack of urgency of emergency time and emergency consciousness， weak clinical thinking of Chinese medicine in emergency treatment， and single teaching mode. Therefore， the cultivation and enhancement of emergency consciousness and clinical thinking of Chinese medicine in emergency treatment is the key factor for students to become qualified clinicians of Chinese medicine as soon as possible. This paper carries out a systematic introduction on the current situation of the development of Chinese medicine in emergency treatment，an explanation of existing problems in teaching emergency treatment of Chinese medicine and corresponding improvement methods， and some detailed countermeasures on how to cultivate students' emergency consciousness and clinical thinking of Chinese medicine in emergency treatment. It is hoped that students are able to apply theory to actual practice in a short time，adapt to the working pace of the emergency department，grasp the clinical thinking of Chinese medicine in emergency treatment and decision- making ability， and become a qualified clinician as soon as possible.
