Objective：To observe the effect of moxibustion combined with point application with Chinese herbal medicine on inguinal hernia in children.Methods：A total of 98 cases of children with inguinal hernia were included and divided into two groups according to the random number table method，49 cases in each group.The control group was treated with point application with Chinese herbal medicine，and the observation group was additionally treated with moxibustion based on the treatment of the control group.Both groups were treated for one month.The hospitalization days，hospitalization expenses，nursing satisfaction of patients，recurrence rates and the effect after treatment in the two groups were compared.Results：After treatment for one month，the clinical effect in the observation group was superior to that in the control group(P＜0.05).The hospitalization days and hospitalization expenses in the observation group were less than those in the control group(P＜0.05)，and the nursing satisfaction of patients was higher than that in the control group(P ＜ 0.05).The half-year and one-year recurrence rates in the observation group were lower than those in the control group，but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion：The therapy of moxibustion combined with point application with Chinese herbal medicine exerts the effect of tonifying and replenishing the spleen and stomach，upraising the middle qi to rescue from desertion，expelling cold-dampness，moving qi and blood as well as venting the liver meridian，which helps to improve curative effect and shorten the course of disease，thus effectively improving the clinical symptoms and signs of inguinal hernia and the satisfaction with nursing measures of children's family members.
