Abstract： Objective： To observe the effect of Shenling Baizhu powder assisting chemotherapy on quality of life of patients with advanced colorectal cancer. Methods：A total of 98 cases of patients with advanced colorectal cancer were randomly divided into two groups，49 cases in each group. The control group was given routine chemotherapy，and the observation group was additionally given Shenling Baizhu powder based on the treatment of the control group. Before and after treatment，Chinese medicine symptom scores，the levels of tumor markers，namely，carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) and carbohydrate antigen 199(CA199)，and each score of quality of life including body，emotion，family，and function were observed in the two groups. The total clinical effect and the adverse reactions induced by chemotherapy were compared between the two groups. Results： The rate of complete remission and partial remission was 77.55% in the observation group，and 51.02% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of Chinese medicine symptoms including abdominal pain and abdominal distension，and sloppy stool in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)；the two scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， the levels of CEA and CA199 in serum in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)； the two indexes in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， the scores of quality of life including body， emotion， family， and function in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)； each score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05). The incidence of nausea，vomiting， poor appetite，damage of the liver and the kidney and myelosuppression adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion：In the treatment of colorectal cancer，the therapy of chemotherapy combined with Shenling Baizhu powder can significantly reduce the levels of tumor markers，and improve clinical symptoms and quality of life，with the effect of enhancing efficacy and reducing toxicity.
