A Study of Effect of Xingnaojing Injection on Recovery of Neurological Function in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke and Its Anti-inflammatory Effect
Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of Xingnaojing injection on recovery of neurological function in patients with acute ischemic stroke and its effect on inflammatory factors. Methods:A total of 100 cases of patients with acute ischemic stroke with syndrome of internal block of phlegm- heat were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group,50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with simvastatin tablets,aspirin enteric- coated tablets and edaravone injection, and given comprehensive treatment measures including preventing and treating infection, lowering intracranial pressure, maintaining water and electrolyte balance and supporting and controlling blood pressure. The observation group was additionally treated with Xingnaojing injection based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 14 days. Before treatment and after treatment for 7 and 14 days respectively, the scores of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS),Activities of Daily Living(ADL) and Chinese medicine syndromes were evaluated, and the levels of homocysteine(Hcy),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) in serum were detected. The clinical effect in the two groups was compared. Results:After treatment,the clinical effect in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05). The Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the ADL scores were increased,differences being significant(P<0.01). The Chinese medicine syndrome score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.01),and the ADL score was higher than that in the control group(P<0.01). The levels of Hcy,IL-6,TNF-α and hs-CRP in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.01); the above four levels in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group(P<0.01). After treatment for 7 and 14 days, the NIHSS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05);the NIHSS scores in the two different time points in the observation group were both lower than those in the control group at the same time point(P<0.05). Conclusion:Based on routine therapy of modern medicine,the additional application of Xingnaojing injection in treating patient with acute ischemic stroke can effectively relieve clinical symptoms and improve neurological function and activities of daily living. Its effect may be related to the alleviation of inflammatory reactions and the improvement of brain injury,which is worthy of further clinical study.
