Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of acupotomy and intra- articular injection with sodium hyaluronate and then fumigation and washing with external washing prescription for knee osteoarthritis of cold- dampness obstruction type. Methods:A total of 70 cases of patients in accordance with the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group,35 cases in each group. The control group was given simple small needle knife and sodium hyaluronate injection; the observation group was given acupotomy combined with intra- articular injection with sodium hyaluronate, and then treated with fumigation and washing with external washing prescription. One month after treatment, the return visit was performed, and the scores of WOMAC and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) in the two groups were observed and compared. Results:Before and after treatment, the comparison of WOMAC scores between the two groups showed significance in differences(P<0.05). After treatment, the comparison of WOMAC scores between the two groups showed significance in the difference(P<0.05). Compared the VAS scores in the two groups before treatment, the scores after treatment showed significance in differences(P<0.05). After treatment, the comparison of VAS scores between the two groups showed significance in the difference(P<0.05). After treatment, there was no obvious abnormality in the threemonth telephone follow- up. Conclusion: The therapy of acupotomy and intra- articular injection with sodium hyaluronate combined with fumigation and washing with external washing prescription has good clinical effect in treating knee osteoarthritis, which can effectively improve quality of life of patients.
