Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Duhuo Jisheng tang combined with percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP) for osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF) in elderly women. Methods: A total of 270 elderly female patients with OVCF were selected and divided into Group A,Group B and Group C according to the random number table method,90 cases in each group. Group A was treated with PVP combined with Duhuo Jisheng tang;Group B was treated with PVP, and Group C was treated with conservative treatment combined with Duhuo Jisheng tang. The score of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),score of Oswestry Disability Index(ODI),biochemical indexes and bone mineral density were observed and compared between the three groups. Results: After the first, third and sixth months of postoperation, there were significant differences in the comparison of the scores of VAS and ODI between the three groups(P<0.05),and the scores of VAS and ODI in Group A were lower than those in Group B and Group C,the difference being significant(P<0.05). After the third month of postoperation, the bone mineral density, and biochemical indexes in the three groups were improved when compared with those before treatment, the difference being significant(P<0.05);the bone mineral density in Group A was higher than that in Group B and Group C respectively(P<0.05),and the biochemical indexes in Group A were improved better than those in Group B and Group C respectively(P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of Duhuo Jisheng tang combined with PVP for patients with OVCF,which can effectively relieve pain, improve lower limb function and slow down the progression of osteoporosis.
