Clinical Study on Micro-acupotomology Guided by Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Com⁃ bined with Ion Conduction with Chinese Herbs for Myofascial Pain Syndrome
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of micro- acupotomology guided by musculoskeletal ultrasound combined with ion conduction with Chinese herbs for myofascial pain syndrome(MPS). Methods: A total of 74 MPS patients were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group, 37 cases in each group. The control group was treated with ion conduction with Chinese herbs combined with conventional micro-acupotomology;the treatment goup was treated with ion conduction with Chinese herbs combined with micro- acupotomology guided by musculoskeletal ultrasound. Both groups were treated for four courses,6 days being one course. The clinical effect and the score of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Japanese Orthopaedic Association in the two groups were observed and compared. Results:The excellent and good rate of clinical effect was 81.1% in the treatment group and 59.5% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After one course and four courses of treatment, the VAS scores in both groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the VAS score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). After one course and four courses of treatment, JOA scores in both groups were significantly significantly increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and JOA score in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P < 0.05). Conclusion : The therapy of micro-acupotomology guided by musculoskeletal ultrasound combined with ion conduction with Chinese herbs for MPS,can effectively improve the clinical effect, reduce the lower back pain and improve the function of the waist.
