Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of integrated Chinese and western medicine therapy for synovial plica syndrome of knee joint. Methods：A total of 60 patients with synovial plica syndrome were selected and divided into the study group and the control group according to random number table method， 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine and ozone，while the study group was additionally treated with Chinese herbal fumigation based on the treatment of the control group. During the treatment，both groups were conducted with functional rehabilitation training. The therapeutic effect in the two groups was observed after five weeks of treatment. Results： The excellent and good rate of knee joint function in the study group was 93.33% ， higher than that of 76.67% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference in the comparisons of the levels of interleukin- 1(IL- 1) and tumor necrosis factor- α(TNF- α) in serum between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment， the levels of IL- 1 and TNF- α in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the above two levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference in the comparison of the score of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment， the VAS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the VAS score in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference in the comparison of the score of Lysholm Knee Scoring Scale in the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，the scores of Lysholm Knee Scoring Scale in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment， and the score in the study group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion：The integrated Chinese and western medicine therapy for synovial plica syndrome of knee joint，can improve the clinical effect，relieve the pain and restore the function of knee joint.
