Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Shufeng Jiedu capsules for acute laryngopharyngitis. Methods：A total of 212 cases of patients with acute laryngopharyngitis were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group，106 cases in each group. The control group was treated with cefoxime，and the observation group was additionally treated with Shufeng Jiedu capsules based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effect，the disappearance time of clinical symptoms as well as the changes in the levels of inflammatory factors including C- reactive protein(CRP)，tumor necrosis factor α(TNF- α)， and interleukin- 6(IL- 6) before and after treatment in the two groups were observed and compared. Results： The total effective rate was 91.51% in the observation group and 78.30% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment， the disappearance time of laryngopharyngeal mucosal hyperemia， sore throat and foreign body sensation in laryngopharynx in the observation group was significantly shorter than that in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of CRP，TNF-α and IL-6 in serum in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)；and the levels of the above inflammatory factors in the observation group were all significantly lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion： The therapy of Shufeng Jiedu capsules combined with cefxime has significant clinical effect in treating acute laryngopharyngitis， and can significantly improve the levels of inflammatory factors in patients， whose curative effect is better than that of simple western medicine.
