Abstract:The theory of Yunpi Zhuanshu is an important academic thought of ZHOU Bingwen,a chief physician, one of the first famous Chinese medicine practitioners in China. It is a treatment method mainly focusing on “transformation” due to the special function of the spleen and stomach being both antagonistic and constituted movement to each other; specifically, the spleen governs ascent and transportation, ascribed to yin earth, and the stomach governs harmony and descent, ascribed to yang earth. The method emphasizes the regulation of the spleen and stomach to treat other zangorgans, attaching great importance to the harmony rather than supplementation. Other methods including cold, warm, tonifying and draining ones are also involved in this method. If patients are of cold constitution, they will be adopted warming method to transform;if patients are of heat constitution, they will be adopted clearing method to transform;if patients are of damp encumbrance, they will be adopted dry method to transform;if patients are with food accumulation, they will be adopted promoting method to transform;in patients ascending counterflow of stomach qi,their qi will be guided and the counterflow directed downward to transform; in patients sinking of spleen qi, their qi will be tonified and yang raised to transform. Though the above methods differ, they have common in transforming the spleen.
