Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of the intervention of Chinese medicine nursing on patients with ventilatorassociated pneumonia based on the routine treatment and nursing. Methods: A total of 106 patients with ventilatorassociated pneumonia were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, 53 cases in each group. Both groups were given routine treatment and nursing measures, and the observation group was additionally given Chinese medicine nursing(massage,point application and collapse treatment). Both groups were treated for one course of seven days. The waking time of patients in the two groups was recorded in detail. The ventilatorassisted ventilation removal rate,the mean length of hospital stay and the 30-day mortality were calculated. The analysis of blood gas including arterial potential of hydrogen(pH), arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2), arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2) and blood oxygen saturation(SaO2) as well as the clinical effect in the two groups were compared.Results:After intervention,the total effective rate was 96.23% in the observation group and 81.13% in the control group,the difference being significant(P<0.05). The waking time in the observation group was earlier than that in the control group;the ventilator-assisted ventilation removal rate in the observation groups was higher than this in the control group,the 30-day mortality in the observation group was lower than this in the control group,and the the mean length of hospital stay was shorter than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). The levels of pH, PaO2 and SaO2 in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,the level of PaCO2 in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,differences being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:The additional application of Chinese medicine nursing(massage, point application and collapse treatment) based on the routine treatment and nursing for patients with ventilator- associated pneumonia, can not only improve the clinical effect, speed up the analepsia time, promote the pulmonary ventilation function and restore the acid- base balance state, but also effectively reduce the occurrence of complications,which is conducive to the prognosis of patients.
