Abstract： Objective： To observe the effect of Qingxin Daochi Tang combined with routine western medicine for oral lichen planus with accumulated heat in the heart and spleen syndrome. Methods： A total of 90 cases of patients with oral lichen planus with accumulated heat in the heart and spleen syndrome were enrolled and divided into the western medicine group and the combination group according to single-blind randomized group method，45 cases in each group. The western medicine group was given triamcinolone acetonide acetate combined with lidocaine， and the combination group was additionally given Qingxin Daochi Tang. Both groups were continuously treated for 12 weeks. The curative effect in the two groups was observed. Results： After treatment， the scores of symptoms and signs in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the scores in the combination group were lower than those in the western medicine group(P＜0.05). After two and four weeks of treatment，the scores of Visual Anaalogue scale(VAS) in the combination group were lower than those before treatment and in the western medicine group after treatment， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment， the total effective rate of remission was 97.78% in the combination group and 84.44% in the western medicine group(P＜0.05). During treatment，no significant adverse reactions occurred in the two groups. The recurrence rate in six months was 11.63%(5/43) in the combination group，lower than that of 30.56%(11/36) in the western medicine group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of Qingxin Daochi Tang combined with western medicine in treating oral lichen planus with accumulated heat in the heart and spleen syndrome，can significantly improve symptoms and signs of patients， gain the clinical effect and reduce the recurrence risk， with good safety.
