Clinical Study on Intervention of Diet therapy of Chinese Medicine Combined with Routine Therapy on Senile Patients with Hyperlipidemia with Phlegm-Dampness Internal Obstruction Syndrome
Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of the intervention of diet therapy of Chinese medicine on senile patients with hyperlipidemia with phlegm- dampness internal obstruction syndrome based on routine therapy. Methods: A total of 120 cases of patients were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group,60 cases in each group. The control group was given oral administration of simvastatin tablets and measures to improve lifestyle. The observation group was additionally given guidance of diet therapy based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 12 weeks. Before and after intervention, the levels of blood lipids including total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) in the two groups were detected;the body weight, abdominal circumference and body mass index(BMI) were recorded; the scores of phlegm- dampness internal obstruction syndrome were evaluated. The curative effect was compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the curative effect in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05). The levels of TC,TG and LDL-C in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the levels of HDL-C were increased, differences being significant(P<0.05). The levels of TC,TG and LDL-C in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group, and the level of HDL-C was higher, differences being significant(P<0.05). The body weight and abdominal circumference in the treatment group were decreased when compared with those before treatment, differences being significant(P<0.05). The scores of phlegm-dampness internal obstruction syndrome in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: The diet therapy of Chinese medicine based on routine therapy in intervening senile patients with hyperlipidemia with phlegm-dampness internal obstruction syndrome can further control blood lipids, improve clinical symptoms and reduce the risk factors of cardiovascular diseases.
