Abstract：The author elaborated the concept and development of the theory of middle qi in Chinese medicine，as well as the main contents of HUANG Yuanyu's theory of middle qi. The author believed that，in the treatment of Tourette syndrome， the theory of middle qi can be applied to the analysis of its etiology and pathogenesis， as well as the guidance of point selecting and operation of acupuncture and moxibustion. It can have better clinical effect with distinct features， and it is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
