Abstract： This paper reviews the research of Semen Strychni in the treatment of nervous system diseases. Modern studies have shown that Semen Strychni contains a large number of alkaloids，among which strychnine and brucine are the most abundant and effective components. Both strychnine and brucine can stimulate the nerve center；strychnine can excite the central nervous system，and does not affect the mutual inhibition between nervous systems under the treatment dose， and brucine can cross the blood- brain barrier into the central nervous system， and affects it. Based on the effect of strychnine and brucine on the nervous system ， Semen Strychni can treat facial paralysis ， myasthenia gravis ， druginduced peripheral neuropathy ， detrusor muscle weakness of bladder，neuropathic pain and many other nervous system diseases.
