Abstract: Objective: To summarize and discuss the effect of stiletto needle combined with specific electromagnetic spectrum(TDP) irradiation for pain in low back after posterior lumbar interbody fushion. Methods:All patients who had pain in low back from the 3rd month to the 24th month after posterior lumbar interbody fushion were enrolled as the analysis objects, and divided into two groups according to the treatment. Both groups were given TDP irradiation; the study group was additionally given stiletto needle, and treated twice a week, two weeks as one course;the control group was additionally given spinal rotation massage, and treated five times a week, two weeks as a course. Both groups were treated for two courses. Before and after treatment, the scores of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA) for pain in low back were evaluated, and the number of tender points and the lumbar mobility were recorded. The clinical effect was compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). The scores of VAS in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). The number of tender points in the two groups was decreased when compared with that before treatment, and the number in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). The scores of JOA for pain in low back in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment, and the score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, differences being significant(P< 0.05). The lumbar mobility including anteflexion, posterior extension, lateral bending and rotation in the two groups was increased when compared with that before treatment, and the lumber mobility of each movement was larger than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of stiletto needle combined with TDP irradiation has significant remission effect on the pain after lumbar fusion with internal fixation, which can effectively improve the lumbar mobility, whose effect is better than that of spinal rotation massage combined with TDP irradiation.
