Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Shengjing tang combined with directed Chinese herbal permeation therapy for male infertility of kidney- essence depletion type. Methods： A total of 108 cases with male infertility of kidney- essence depletion type were divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method，54 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with Shengjing tang combined with directed Chinese herbal permeation therapy， while the control group was treated with Shengjing tang only. The sperm survival rate， sperm density， sperm mobility， normal sperm morphology rate and sperm DNA Fragmentation Index(DFI) were compared between the two groups，and the clinical effect was evaluated. Results：The total effective rate was 88.89% in the treatment group，higher than that of 75.93% in the control group，there being no significant difference(P＞0.05). There was no significant difference in the comparison of sperm density between the two groups before and after treatment(P＞ 0.05). After treatment，the sperm survival rate，sperm mobility，normal sperm morphology rate and DFI in both groups were improved when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)；the improvement of sperm survival rate and sperm mobility in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P＜0.05)， and there was no significant difference in the comparison of normal sperm morphology rate and DFI between the two groups(P＞0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of Shengjing tang combined with directed Chinese herbal permeation therapy has better therapeutic effect than the Shengjing tang alone in treating male infertility of kidney-essence depletion type；in particular，it has obvious advantages in improving sperm survival rate and sperm mobility.
