Abstract：Objective：To observe the effect of the therapy of Tuire Xuewei paste combined with San'ao tablets for fever caused by acute upper respiratory tract infection. Methods：A total of 140 cases of fever caused by acute upper respiratory tract infection were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group，70 cases in each group. The control group was treated with oral administration of San'ao tablets，and patients who were over 38.5 ℃ were treated with ibuprofen sustained release capsules. The observation group was treated with Sanniu tablets and applied Tuire Xuewei paste at Dazhui point(GV14) and Quchi point(LI11). The treatment course of both groups was five days. The body temperature was measured；the onset time of antipyretic，antipyretic and recovery time were recorded；the rate of body temperature back to normal and the rate of body temperature re- going high were calculated， and the scores of wind- cold symptoms were assessed before and after treatment. The clinical effect in both groups was compared. Results：After treatment，the effect of temperature reduction in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P＜0.05). The onset time of antipyretic，antipyretic and recovery time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P＜0.05). The rate of body temperature back to normal in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05)，and the rate of body temperature re-going high in the observation group was lower(P＜0.05). The scores of wind-cold symptoms in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of Tuire Xuewei paste combined with San'ao tablets has significant therapeutic effect in treating fever caused by acute upper respiratory tract infection，with advantages of quick onset，short course of disease，and low rate of body temperature re-going high.
