Abstract：Objective：To observe the curative effect of Banxia Baizhu Tianma tang combined with manual reduction for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(BPPV). Methods：A total of 62 cases of BPPV cases were divided into the control group and the observation group， 31 cases in each group. The control group was treated with manual reduction， and the observation group was additionally given Banxia Baizhu Tianma tang based on the treatment of the control group. Before and after treatment respectively，the Dizziness Handicap Inventory(DHI) and blood lipid levels in the two groups were evaluated. The clinical effect after treatment and the recurrence rate at six months after treatment were assessed. Results： Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the DHI scores between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，the scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the scores in the observation group were lower(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the blood lipid levels between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，the levels in the two groups were improved when compared with those before treatment，and the improvement in the observation group was better(P＜0.05). The total effective rate and the recurrence rate in the observation group were better than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：Compared with the single treatment of traditional manual reduction， the therapy of Banxia Baizhu Tianma tang combined with manual reduction for BPPV can significantly improve vertigo， regulate the expression levels of blood lipid and have obvious advantages in increasing total curative effect and reducing recurrence rate.
