Abstract：Objective：To observe the curative effect of Xinlijian pills combined with routine western medicine for chronic heart failure. Methods：A total of 60 cases of patients with chronic heart failure of heart-lung qi deficiency and blood stasis and water retention type were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group，30 cases in each group. Both groups were given routine western medicine for diuresis，dilating vessels and strengthening myocardial contractility，and the treatment group was additionally treated with Xinlijian pills. Both groups were treated for nine days. Before and after treatment，Chinese medicine syndrome scores and Lee's heart failure scores，heart function classification in the two groups were evaluated，and N- terminal pro b- type natriuretic peptide(NT- proBNP) was detected. The clinical effect in the two groups was compared. Results：After treatment，the curative effect of Chinese medicine syndromes，heart failure and heart function improvement in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P＜0.01，P＜0.05)，and the scores of Chinese medicine syndromes and Lee's heart failure scores as well as NT-proBNP values in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，differences being significant(P＜0.05)，and the indexes in the treatment group were all lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： Based on routine western medicine， the additional therapy of Xinlijian pills for CHF patients of heart-lung qi deficiency and blood stasis and water retention type has better effect than that of simple western medicine in improving symptoms of heart failure and heart function.
