Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Yanggan Runmu prescription combined with sodium hyaluronate eye drops for dry eye(DE) of liver-kidney yin deficiency type. Methods：A total of 96 cases of DE patients of liver-kidney yin deficiency type were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method， 48 cases in each group. The control group was given 0.3% sodium hyaluronate eye drops，and the observation group was additionally given Yanggan Runmu prescription based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were continuously treated for four courses，7 days being a course. The changes in the length of the moist filter paper in the SchirmerⅠTest(SIt)， tear break-up time(BUT)，and the scores of corneal fluorescein staining(FL) and the eye symptoms before and after treatment were observed in the two groups. The clinical effect and safety were evaluated in the two groups. Results：After treatment， the length of the moist filter paper in SIt and BUT in the two groups were lengthened when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and FL scores were decreased(P＜0.05). After treatment，the length of the moist filter paper in SIt and BUT in the observation group were longer than those in the control group(P＜0.05)，and FL score was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of dry eye，photophobia，asthenopia，and foreign body sensation in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)；the four scores of the eye symptoms above in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). The total effective rate was 91.67% in the observation group， higher than that of 75.00% in the control group(P＜0.05). No adverse reactions occurred in the two groups. Conclusion：The therapy of Yanggan Runmu prescription combined with sodium hyaluronate eye drops can improve clinical effect in the treatment of DE of liver-kidney yin deficiency type，with high medication safety.
