Clinical Study on Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation Nursing Combined with Pharyngeal Stimulation with Chinese Herbal Stick for Patients with Dysphagia After Stroke at Oral Stage
Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Chinese medicine rehabilitation nursing combined with pharyngeal stimulation with Chinese herbal stick on patients with dysphagia after stroke at oral stage. Methods:A total of 106 patients with dysphagia after stroke at oral stage were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method,53 cases in each group. Both group were intervened with comprehensive treatment and routine nursing, and the observation group was additionally given Chinese medicine rehabilitation nursing combined with pharyngeal stimulation with Chinese herbal stick. Both groups were intervened for four weeks. The changes in the grading of Kubota Water Swallowing Test, scores of Gugging Swallowing Screen(GUSS),Video-Fluroscopic Swallowing Study(VFSS), Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and 36-Item Short Form Health Study(SF-36) in both groups were observed before and after intervention. The curative effect was compared between the two groups and the incidence of adverse actions and complications were recorded. Results: After intervention, the grading of Kubota Water Swallowing Test and the scores of GUSS and VFSS were improved when compared with those before intervention(P<0.05); the improvement of the above indexes in the observation group was more significant than that in the control group(P<0.05). After intervention, the scores of SDS and SAS in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before intervention(P<0.05),and the scores of SF-36 were increased(P<0.05);the scores of SDS and SAS in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the score of SF-36 was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). The clinical cure rate and total effective rate were 47.17% and 90.57% in the observation group respectively, and 26.42% and 73.58% in the control group respectively, the differences were significant(P<0.05). During the treatment,no obvious adverse reactions and complications occurred in both groups. Conclusion: The therapy of Chinese medicine rehabilitation nursing combined with pharyngeal stimulation with Chinese herbal stick can improve the swallowing function, psychological state and quality of life of patients with dysphagia after stroke at oral stage as well as the clinical effect.
