Abstract:Objective:To observe clinical effect of external application of Sihuang Shuimi combined with foot bath with Chinese herbs for community-acquired pneumonia(CAP). Methods:A total of 100 cases of CAP patients were selected and divided into the control group and the experiment group according to different treatment measures, 50 cases in each group. The control group was given routine western medicine, and the experiment group was additionally treated with external application of Sihuang Shuimi and foot bath with Chinese herbs based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for seven days. The clinical effect and the remission time of clinical symptoms were compared between the two groups. The changes in syndrome scores, Clinical Pulmonary Infection Score(CPIS) and levels of inflammatory factors in the two groups were observed. Results: The total effective rate was 98.00% in the experiment group, higher than that of 86.00% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the syndrome scores and CPIS in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the two scores above in the experiment group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The time for temperature recovery, the disappearance time of lung rales as well as the remission time of expectoration and cough in the experiment group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of white blood cell(WBC), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) and procalcitonin(PCT) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the levels of WBC and hs-CRP in the experiment group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of external application of Sihuang Shuimi combined with foot bath with Chinese herbs can improve the clinical effect on CAP, rapidly relieve the clinical symptoms of patients, and reduce the levels of inflammatory factors.
