Abstract：Objective：To observe the effect of modified Shegan Mahuang tang combined with point application on lung function and quality of life in patients with bronchial asthma in acute exacerbation. Methods：A total of 80 cases of patients with bronchial asthma in acute exacerbation were divided into the control group and the experiment group according to the random number table method， 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with point application， and the experiment group was additionally treated with modified Shegan Mahuang tang based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effect， the changes in lung function and quality of life in the two groups were compared. Results： The total effective rate was 97.50% in the experiment group and 77.50% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜ 0.05). After treatment， the levels of forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1)/forced vital capacity(FVC)， FVC and maximal voluntary ventilation(MVV) in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the levels of FEV1/FVC，FVC and MVV in the experiment group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， the scores of emotional function， social function， psychological function and physiological function in the experiment group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of modified Shegan Mahuang tang combined with point application for patients with bronchial asthma in acute exacerbation can improve their clinical effect，lung function and quality of life.
