Abstract：Objective：To study the curative effect of Jiedu Lifei tang assisting budesonide atomization inhalation for acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD) and its effect on contents of cyclooxygenase 2(COX-2) and prostaglandin E2(PGE2) in serum. Methods：A total of 130 cases of AECOPD patients were divided into the study group and the control group for prospective study， with 65 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine combined with budesonide atomization inhalation，and the study group was additionally treated with Jiedu Lifei tang based on the treatment in the control group. After two weeks of treatment，the curative effect was analyzed to perform the blood gas analysis； the contents of COX- 2 and PGE2 in serum were determined. Results： The average score of Chinese medicine syndromes was 3.86 ± 0.71 points in the study group， significantly lower than that of 5.26 ± 1.18 points in the control group(P＜0.05). The total effective rate was 95.38% in the study group， higher than that of 89.23% in the control group；the grading of curative effect in the study group was better than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， PaO2 in the two groups was increased and the PaO2 in the study group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， PaCO2 in the two groups was decreased， and the PaCO2 in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of COX-2 and PGE2 in serum in the two groups were decreased，and the level in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusions： The therapy of Jiedu Lifei tang assisting budesonide atomization inhalation has good curative effect in treating AECOPD， which can improve the partial pressure of blood oxygen and reduce the levels of COX-2 and PGE2.
