Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Jianpi Yiqi tang combined with acupuncture for chronic diarrhea of spleen qi deficiency type. Methods：A total of 92 cases of patients with chronic diarrhea of spleen qi deficiency type were divided into the study group and the control group according to the random number table method，46 cases in each group. The control group was treated with montmorillonite powder， and the study group was additionally treated with Jianpi Yiqi tang combined with acupuncture based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 14 days. The defecation frequency， the stool traits， the excretory rate of urine D- xylose and activity of urine amylase before and after treatment and the clinical effect in the two groups were compared， and the blood routine， urine routine and adverse reactions in the two groups were monitored. Results：The clinical effect in the study group was significantly better than that in the control group(Z=2.070，P=0.041＜0.05). After treatment，the defecation frequency in the study group was significantly less than that in the control group(P＜0.01)， stool traits were significantly better than those in the control group(P＜0.05)， and the excretory rate of urine D-xylose and activity of urine amylase were significantly higher than those in the control group (P＜0.01). During treatment， there was no abnormal blood and urine routine and adverse reaction in the two groups. Conclusion： Jianpi Yiqi tang combined with acupuncture can effectively improve the clinical symptoms， gastrointestinal digestion and absorption function of patients with chronic diarrhea of spleen qi deficiency type.
