Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of gingko leaf capsules on cognitive function and prognosis in patients with mild cognitive impairment after stroke. Methods:A total of 100 cases of patients with mild cognitive impairment after stroke were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method,50 cases in each group. The control group was given symptomatic treatment of western medicine, and the observation group was additionally treated with gingko leaf capsules based on the treatment of the control group. Before and after treatment, the scores of Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA),the blood flow velocity of cerebral arteries, and the incidences of cerebral arteriosclerosis, vasospasm and vascular stenosis in the two groups were compared. Results:Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of MoCA scores between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the MoCA scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the blood flow velocities of anterior cerebral artery(ACA), middle cerebral artery(MCA), posterior cerebral arteries(PCA), vertebral artery(VA) and basilar artery (BA) in the observation group were significantly faster than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the incidences of cerebral arteriosclerosis, vasospasm and vascular stenosis in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Gingko leaf capsules can improve cognitive function and blood flow velocity in patients with mild cognitive impairment after stroke and reduce the incidence of vascular stenosis with good clinical effect.
