Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Roujin tang combined with warming- needle and moxibustion for spastic hemiplegia in convalescent stroke. Methods: A total of 82 patients with spastic hemiplegia during convalescent stroke were selected and divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method, 41 cases in each group. The control group received rehabilitation training treatment, and the treatment group was additionally given Roujin tang combined with warming- needle based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effect, and scores of Modified Ashworth Scale for Grading Spasticity(Ashworth), Fugl- Meyer Motor Assessment(Fugl-Meyer) and Barthel Index for Activities of Daily Living(Barthel) in the two groups were compared. Results: The total effective rate was 95.1% in the treatment group and 75.6% in the control group, the difference being significant(P< 0.05). After treatment,Ashworth scores of elbow, wrist, knee and ankle in both groups were all decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the above scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of Fugl-Meyer and Barthel were higher in the treatment group than in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of Roujin tang combined with warming-needle and moxibustion has a significant effect on patients with spastic hemiplegia in convalescent stroke, which can significantly reduce the degree of joint spasm and improve the motor function and self-care ability of daily living.
