Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of pressing Xinshu point(BL15) with different strength on local blood flow velocity and temperature. Methods: Twenty healthy volunteers were recruited and pressed the left Xinshu point with five levels of force: extremely mild, mild, moderate, heavy and extremely heavy. The changes of peak systolic blood flow velocity of 12 volunteers and the local temperature of the remaining eight volunteers were observed. Results:The increase of blood flow velocity after five levels of force from lightly to heavily was [- 4.68(-6.92,-1.56)]cm/s,[2.16(1.30,3.35)]cm/s, [1.86(0.78, 4.26)]cm/s, [4.94(2.31, 7.63)]cm/s, [1.56(- 1.95, 2.47)]cm/s, respectively; the differences of blood flow velocity before and after pressing were statistically analyzed and compared:The difference of blood flow velocity between the pressure before and after was mild, moderate and heavy pressed was higher, and the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05). And the heavy effect was superior to mild and moderate, the difference were statistically significant(P< 0.05). The increase of temperature after pressing immediately was (1.88±0.64)℃,(2.05±0.68)℃,(2.25±0.59)℃,(2.35± 0.61)℃ and (2.32 ± 0.69)℃ , respectively; the differences of temperature were statistically analyzed and compared: extremely heavy and heavy were superior to the others, the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:In a certain range, with the increase of pressing force, the local temperature and blood flow velocity of Xinshu point have an increasing trend. When the pressing force is heavy, the blood flow velocity and local temperature of Xinshu point are the largest.
