Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect ofHuatanTongluo tang combined with rehabilitation training for acute ischemic stroke. Methods：A total of 60 cases of patients with acute ischemic stroke were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，30 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with routine western medicine；the control group was additionally treated with rehabilitation training，and the observation group was additionally given HuatanTongluo tang based on the treatment of the control group. Chinese medicine syndrome scores and neurologic impairment before and after treatment as well as the clinical effect in the two groups were compare. Before and after treatment，the limb motor function，activity of daily living and muscle strength in the two groups were observed. During treatment，the safety was recorded. Results：The total effective rate was 86.67% in the observation group，higher than that of 66.67% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of Chinese medicine syndromes and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， the scores of Brunnstrom and Fugl- Meyer Assessment(FMA) in the two groups were significantly increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the scores in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， the Barthel Index(BI) and Medical Research Council(MRC) scores of muscle strength in the two groups were significantly increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the above indexes in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). During treatment， there was no significant adverse reaction in the two groups. Conclusion： The therapy ofHuatanTongluo tang combined with rehabilitation training has significant effect in treating patients with acute ischemic stroke，which can improve the neurologic impairment，limb motor function，the activity of daily living and muscle strength.
