Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Qufeng Zhiyang tang combined with western medicine for the liver cirrhosis complicated with jaundice concomitant with pruritus. Methods： A total of 113 cases of patients with the liver cirrhosis complicated with jaundice concomitant with pruritus were selected and divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method， 53 and 60 cases in each group respectively. The control group was given compound glycyrrhizin tablets combined with tacrolimus， and the treatment group was additionally given Qufeng Zhiyang tang based on the treatment of the control group. The syndrome scores were compared between the two groups before and after treatment， which included pruritus degree， seizure frequency， duration， pruritus area， sleep quality，degree of conscious attention on condition，degree of dry skin，and secondary lesion. The clinical effect，as well as the incidence and recurrence of adverse reactions including redness and swelling，stabbing pain，and burning sensation were observed in the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 93.33% in the treatment group，and 79.25% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment， the syndrome scores of pruritus degree， seizure frequency，duration，pruritus area，sleep quality，subjective symptoms，dry skin，and secondary lesion were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and each syndrome score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After 12 months of follow- up，the recurrence rate was 5.36% in the treatment group，and 21.43% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 11.67% in the treatment group，and 13.21% in the control group，and there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the incidence between the two groups(P＞0.05). Conclusion：In the treatment of patients with the liver cirrhosis complicated with jaundice concomitant with pruritus，the therapy of Qufeng Zhiyang tang combined with western medicine has significant curative effect，which can improve clinical symptoms with low recurrence rate.
