Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Dahuang Fuzi tang on the recovery of gastrointestinal function in patients with sepsis. Methods: A hundred patients with sepsis complicated with gastrointestinal dysfunction were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method,50 cases in each group. The control group was given conventional western medicine for treatment, and the observation group was additionally treated with Dahuang Fuzi tang based on the treatment of the control group. The score of Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II (APACHE II),score of gastrointestinal dysfunction, white blood cell count, hypersensitive C- reactive protein (hs-CRP),procalcitonin,clinical effect and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 94.00% in the observation group and 80.00% in the control group, the difference being significant(P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores of gastrointestinal dysfunction and APACHE II in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment (P <0.05),and the above two scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P <0.05). After treatment, the levels of white blood cell,hs-CRP and procalcitonin in two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P <0.05),and the above levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P <0.05). No obvious adverse reactions occurred in all patients during the treatment. Conclusion: The application of Dahuang Fuzi tang based on conventional western medicine can effectively improve the clinical symptoms and gastrointestinal dysfunction of patients, with significant clinical effect.
