Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Yiqi Tongbian prescription for senile functional constipation. Methods:A total of 100 cases of senile patients with functional constipation were selected and divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method,50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with domperidone tablets and phenolphthalein buccal tablets,and the treatment group was additionally treated with Yiqi Tongbian prescription based on the treatment of the control group. The syndrome scores before and after treatment,the clinical effect,recurrence rates and adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Results:The total effective rate was 98.00% in the treatment group and 86.00% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment,the syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the syndrome score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). The recurrence rate was 2.00% in the treatment group and 13.95% in the control group,the difference being significant(P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 4.00% in the treatment group and 16.00% in the control group,the difference being significant(P< 0.05). Conclusion: The application of Yiqi Tongbian prescription has definite clinical effect in treating senile patients with functional constipation,which can effectively improve their clinical symptoms as well as reduce the recurrence rates and the incidence of adverse reactions.
