Abstract： Objective： To observe the application effect of Yanning granules combined with western medicine for mycoplasma pneumonia in children. Methods：A total of 120 cases of children with mycoplasma pneumonia with phlegm heat obstructing the lung syndrome were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group，60 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with routine symptomatic drugs combined with azithromycin，and the observation group was additionally treated with Yanning granules. Both groups were treated for six days. The improvement time of symptoms and signs such as coughing，fever，and pulmonary dry and moist rales as well as the incidence of adverse reactions were observed and recorded. Before and after six-day treatment，the levels of C-reactive protein(CRP)，interleukin-6(IL-6) and procalcitonin(PCT) were measured. The curative effect in the two groups was compared. Results：After six-day treatment， the total effective rate was 95.00% in the observation group，higher than that of 78.33% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). The scores of main and secondary symptoms and the total scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the above three scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). The defervescence time，the stopping time of cough and the disappearance time of pulmonary dry and moist rales in the observation group were advanced when compared with those in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). The levels of IL- 6， CRP and PCT in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the levels of the above three indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). No serious drug-related adverse reaction occurred in the two groups. Conclusion：The therapy of Yanning granules combined with western medicine achieves ideal curative effect better in treating mycoplasma pneumonia in children，which can faster relieve and reduce the main clinical symptoms，signs and inflammatory responses of children. The drug combination will not increase the incidence of adverse reactions，with good safety.
