The control group was intervened with routine nursing, and the observation group was additionally intervened with Chinese medicine characteristic nursing technique based on the treatment of the control group. After two weeks of treatment, the scores of Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA),Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Quality of Life Questionnare- Core 30(QLQ- C30) were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the JOA scores in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the VAS scores were decreased(P<0.05); the improvement of the above two scores in the observation group was more significant than that in the control group(P<0.05). After intervention, each score in QLQ- C30 including social function, physical function, psychological function and material function in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group respectively, differences being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:Chinese medicine characteristic nursing technique can effectively relieve the pain of patients who had undergone surgery for lumbar disc herniation, promote the recovery of lumbar function and improve the quality of life.
