Abstract: Objective: To observe the curative effect of the therapy of acupuncture combined with pelvic floor electrophysiology on stress incontinence and its effect on pelvic floor function. Methods:A total of 92 patients with stress incontinence were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method,46 cases in each group. The control group was treated with pelvic floor electrophysiology, and the observation group was additionally treated with acupuncture based on the treatment of the control group. The therapeutic effect was compared between the two groups, and the pelvic floor function and the scores of International Consultation Incontinence Questionnaire- Short Form(ICI- Q- SF) were evaluated before and after treatment. Results: The total effective rate was 97.83% in the observation group, higher than that of 73.91% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment , there was no significant difference in the comparison of IC- Q- SF scores between the two groups (P > 0.05). After treatment, the IC- Q- SF scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the IC-Q-SF score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the comparison of the levels of strength of type I muscle fibers, type II muscle fibers and vaginal dynamic pressure between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of strength of type I muscle fibers, type II muscle fibers and vaginal dynamic pressure were increased when compared with those before treatment, and the above levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of acupuncture combined with pelvic floor electrophysiology is effective in treating stress incontinence, which can improve the pelvic floor function and incontinence symptoms of patients.
