Clinical Study on Acupuncture at Scalp Points Combined with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for Autism Spectrum Disorder with Intellectual Disability
Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of acupuncture at scalp points combined with transcranial magnetic stimulation for autism spectrum disorder(ASD) with intellectual disability. Methods:A total of 60 cases of ASD patients with intellectual disability and in accordance with the inclusion criteria were divided into two groups according to the random number table method,30 cases in each group. The control group was given routine rehabilitation training and transcranial magnetic stimulation, and the treatment group was additionally treated with acupuncture at scalp points based on the treatment of the control group. There were nine treatment courses, ten days being a course. Scores of Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence Ⅳ(WIPPSI-Ⅳ) and curative effect of intelligence development were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, factors of overall intelligence, verbal comprehension, visual spatial, Full Scale Intelligence Quotient in the two groups were improved when compared with those before treatment, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, scores of overall intelligence in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). When compared the scores of Full Scale Intelligence Quotient, verbal comprehension and visual spatial between the two groups, there was significance in the difference(P<0.05). Compared the clinical efficacy, there was no significance in the difference(P>0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of acupuncture at scalp points combined with transcranial magnetic stimulation can improve overall intelligence of children with ASD and intellectual disability.
