Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of point application combined with Natrii Sulfas in preventing and treating phlebitis. Methods:A total of 100 cases of patients with phlebitis treated by intravenous infusion of indwelling needle were selected and divided into two groups according to the random number table method, 50 cases in each group. The control group was given external application with Natrii Sulfas, and the observation group was additionally treated with point application based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effect, the indwelling duration, the scores of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), the D- value of arm circumference of swelling upper limbs and the nursing satisfaction in the two groups were compared. Results:After treatment for two, three and seven days respectively, the total effective rates were 24.00%,68.00% and 100% in the observation group and 8.00%,32.00% and 84.00% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment for two, three and seven days respectively, the VAS scores and the D-value of arm circumference of swelling upper limbs in the observation group were significantly fewer than those in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the cured time in the observation group was less than that in the control group, the indwelling duration was more, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the nursing satisfaction scores including personnel quality, condition observation and symptom improvement in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: Point application combined with Natrii Sulfas for patients with phlebitis can effectively improve the treatment efficiency, VAS scores, local swelling and nursing satisfaction, shorten the cured time, and prolong the indwelling duration, which is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
