Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Lingnan fire needling for dacryorrhea. Methods:A total of 60 cases of patients,22 males and 38 females, who met inclusion criteria were selected and divided into two groups according to random number table method,30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with lacrimal passage irrigation;the treatment group was treated with Lingnan fire needling. Both groups were treated for four times, once a week. The clinical effect and ocular surface symptoms were observed and compared between the two groups. Results: In the treatment group, there were 18 cases(35 eyes) cured,8 cases(13 eyes) improved,4 cases(6 eyes) ineffective, and the total effective rate was 86.67%;in the control group, there were 6 cases(12 eyes) cured,8 cases(14 eyes) improved,16 cases(30 eyes) ineffective, and the total effective rate was 46.67% ; the difference was significant(P<0.05). Scores of ocular surface symptoms in the two groups were significantly improved when compared with those before treatment, the difference being significant(P<0.01), and the score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.01). The improvement degree of symptoms in the treatment group was better than that in the control group. Conclusion:Lingnan fire needling in the treatment of dacryorrhea can effectively improve ocular surface symptoms, whose clinical effect is better than that of simple lacrimal passage irrigation.
