Abstract： Western medicine treatment for hyperthyroidism has good curative effect， but there are adverse reactions such as agranulocytosis， liver function damage， joint pain and vasculitis， and with high recurrence rate after drug withdrawal. Hyperthyroidism belongs to the category of goiter disease in Chinese medicine. This paper summarizes the clinical trials of Chinese medicine improving the adverse reactions of antithyroid drugs and reducing the recurrence rate after drug withdrawal by means of efficacy enhancing and toxicity reducing.
