Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the effect of fire needling on limb function rehabilitation of patients with spastic hemiplegia after stroke through Meta-analysis. Methods:The randomized controlled trials(RCT) related to the intervention of fire needling in limb function of patients with spastic hemiplegia after stroke were retrieved through the computer from Cochrane Library, Medline, Web of Science, EMbase, Ovid, Pubmed, China Biology Medicine disc, China National Knowledge Infrastructure,VIP Database, and WANFANG Data. The control group was given routine rehabilitation exercise, routine needling such as body acupuncture and electro- acupuncture, routine treatment, etc. The experiment group was given either fire needling based on the treatment of the control group or the simple therapy of fire needling. In the two groups,Meta- analysis on the score of Fugl- Meyer Assessment(FMA) of motor function, clinic spastcity index(CSI),and the effective rate was carried out by Revman5.3 software. Results:There were 16 literature included, involving 1,061 study objects. According to the Meta- analysis result:in the experiment group,CSI [Z=4.55,P<0.05,MD=- 0.82,95%CI=(- 1.17,-0.47)],the score of FMA [Z=7.43,P<0.05,MD=9.00,95%CI=(6.63,11.38)],and the effective rate [Z=6.35,P< 0.05, OR=3.37, 95% CI=(2.32, 4.91)], were all better than those in the control group. Conclusion: Fire needling can improve limb function of patients with spastic hemiplegia after stroke, and promote their rehabilitation.
